I was scanning status updates on Facebook today and noticed that a movie called Winter's Bone is playing at our local historic theatre. The movie's official website describes it as: Seventeen-year-old Ree Dolly (Jennifer Lawrence) sets out to track down her father, who put their house up for his bail bond and then disappeared. If she fails, Ree and her family will be turned out into the Ozark woods. Challenging her outlaw kin's code of silence and risking her life, Ree hacks through the lies, evasions and threats offered up by her relatives and begins to piece together the truth.
I watched the trailer and it looks like a very good movie, and one that I may see. I learned that the movie is based on the novel by Daniel Woodrell. I checked out the reviews on Amazon (about 85% rated it either 4-stars or 5-stars) and it looks like a very good book, and one that I may read as well.
